Part of the flounder family, Alaskan halibut spend most of their lifecycle deep on the ocean floor. During the spring and summer months halibut migrate to shallower waters to hunt, and the Gulf of Alaska is rich with their prey. Big fish can get upwards of 300 lbs, but the average halibut in the state of Alaska is around 30 lbs.
Large halibut are called hogs, and reeling one in can be very exciting! Our captain and crew are always standing by to help guide you and assist in landing your fish, and along with top notch gear, we also have fighting belts on board for the sportsman who wants the thrill of going one-on-one with their fish.
